This was only open to kids, they were banking that no one had any aim because everyone we watched missed until the lone girl walked up and showed all the boys how it’s done. Good job lady!
They do make some delicious cured meat products! I purchased the fennel laced salami, finocchiona ($9), recently at the local farmer’s market and it was sublime. They also sell them at local markets if you can’t make it to their store front.
I love all the street fairs that Portland neighborhoods host. It’s a great place to check out art, buy unique things, eat street food and enjoy the people watching because there are so many characters to see. This photo was snapped by a friend who happened to have his camera ready to catch this wonderful person. Yes, it’s a guy semi-dressed like Darth Vader playing bagpipes on a unicycle. The song he was playing? The Star Wars theme…duh.
I know every city has it’s quirkiness but Portland just seems to have more than it’s share per square mile.
I was driving down a street and I noticed a bike had fallen over on the next block. It was in the middle of the street and the female cyclist was waiving her arms in the air and shaking her head and just staring at her bike. I wasn’t sure if she was injured or had a flat tire but as I got closer, I saw a large tree stump (from a free pile of wood) that she tied to the back of her bike and she was struggling to get her bike back into an upright position. Seriously it was huge and the guy that gave it to her was laughing because he already knew what was going to happen.
